Concept 30: What is the name of hormone that regulates blood sugar level?

The hormone that regulates blood sugar level is called insulin. Insulin is produced by the pancreas and helps to regulate the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood by facilitating the uptake of glucose into cells. When we eat, glucose is released into the bloodstream, and insulin is released in response to signal cells to take up glucose from the blood to be used for energy or stored for later use. In people with diabetes, either the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells do not respond to insulin properly, leading to high levels of glucose in the blood.
